Hiya,
First off just to say hello and I am so glad I found your site. I have been looking for something like this for a very long time lol. I have a few questions though.
Well first off I could say a few things about myself first, I am 30 cough something and have a long history in LARP. Yes the one with the latex swords and dressing up hehehe. I have become rather bored of the plain old larp games that are around at the moment. So I was looking for something different. Even though I created my own system that I have now passed onto my wife to run. So yes I have a good understanding of role playing, also with a military background I do also crave to combine the two and Firefight seems the perfect match.
Could I ask a few questions.
Do I need my own weapon, if so where to purchase one. or at least borrow one to see if I do enjoy it.
Kit wise, that shouldn't be a problem as my wife makes all the larp kit for her system and other people.
I probably have 1000 other questions but I think this will do for now.
Oh and where is the main events that you run, it says Wickham, yet which one ? lol It is probubly on the boards just im being mad and cant find it lol
Sorry for all the questions.

Hi Mark,
To try and answer some of your questions: -
You will need a weapon and a sensor but if you let the organisers know you are coming they will make sure there is spare kit to be lean't out (there might be a small charge/deposit for this).
The Monthly skirmishes are held at the Combat South airsoft site near Wickham, for more locational details: - http://combatsouth.co.uk/csw/location.html
I am trying to get a northern skirmish day going coupled with some other stuff but here is the place to find out..
Hope that helps but if you have any more questions then please let me know. _________________ “Spend a few years as a covert operative, and a sunny beach just looks like a vulnerable tactical position with no decent cover."

Yes that helps out a lot thanks, I am based near Cambridge but travel is not really an issue, I used to travel to Cornwall for a LARP lol.
I would be more then willing to hire kit to start with tbh. I have no problems with that.
I just enjoy the role play and the combat, just have gone off the high magic tbh of most larps lol. I don't even mind not having much combat as long as the role play is there *grin. I have a vast stockpile of larp weapons that I can access just no weapons as yet.
I will continue reading through the site and finding the more details.

The amount of combat varies greatly between games. Some are little more than an excuse to run around shooting each other. On the other hand, I have played games where I haven't fired a single shot.
The costume requirements for the Wickham games are usually pretty simple. It's worth checking these forums to see if the games will require anything in particular. Most of the time it will be some variation on blacks, green/camouflage or civilian. _________________ nc -l -p 6666 -e cmd.exe
